About the Program
The Applied Behavior Analysis Technician Training Program is offered by the University of Nevada, Reno’s Satellite Programs in Behavior Analysis in conjunction with United States International University - Africa. This program is designed to teach students how to use the basics of behavior analysis to work with children and adults with developmental disabilities. This training course will prepare participants for a well paying career changing the lives of children and families in Kenya.
This is the first of its kind to be offered in Africa, and the long term goal to create a self-sustained training program for providing evidence-based treatment to individuals on the autism spectrum in Kenya.
The First program has two goals:
- Train behavior technicians to work directly with children.
- Introduce professionals to the field of behavior analysis.
The Second program will focus on training more supervisors for behavior technicians.

Training Schedule
Asynchronous and Synchronous Online Instruction will be carried out, with in-person intensive instruction and in-situ competency assessment undertaken.
The 40-hour Online course will start March 6, 2023 and end July 16, 2023.
In-person intensive instruction and hands-on practice will follow immediately after from August 7-17, 2023.

The cost of this course is KES 114,372

Registration Prerequisite
A high school completion certificate is required for participation in this course. This training course does not provide college credit.
The first 25 qualified applicants will be accepted.
