Oguto Okudo

Ms. Oguto Okudo is the only Kenyan who has featured in this year’s “Forbes Africa 30 under 30” list. Ms. Ogutu, a member of the USIU-Africa class of 2013 (BA. International Relations – Foreign Policy and Diplomacy) is the founder of Women in Energy & Extractives Africa, a social enterprise that she founded in 2012. Her enterprise that spans presence over 15 countries has helped bridge “the gender gap in the oil, gas, mining and alternative sectors in Africa.”

In 2018, she won the ‘Under 30 Women in Energy East Africa’ award. The same year, she was recognized by President Uhuru Kenyatta as one of the young female Kenyan trailblazers. She emerged winner in the Kenya Upstream Oil and Gas Woman of the Year award in 2019. Further, in 2019, she addressed the Economic and Social Council at the United Nations headquarters in New York City, USA. During this time, she was part of the President Kenyatta’s delegation to the United Nations General Assembly.
