Sports Updates - February 09, 2024

Netball
USIU-Africa Hurricanes had a game over the weekend against St. Paul’s university (SPU) and they won 47- 25. This is their first Kenya Universities Sports Association (KUSA) victory and the goals were scored by Nasra Msangi and Paulihno. Congratulations to the team.

Soccer
On Saturday, February 3, the ladies' team had a match last weekend and they lost to Kenyatta University 2-0. On Sunday, they played against Mama Ngina University College and they won 1-0. The lone goal was scored by Caroline Mutuiri. Great work by our soccer team.

Volleyball
The women’s volleyball also had Kenya Universities Sports Association (KUSA) league match over the weekend against Kiriri Women's University of Science and Technology (KWUST) and Gretsa University and these were the results:

  • USIU-Africa vs KWUST: 1-3, 19-25, 15-25, 25-19 and 14-25
  • USIU-Africa vs Gretsa: 3-0, 25-0, 25-0, 25-0

Rugby
The USIU-Africa rugby team, also known as the Martials, emerged victorious in their recent match against the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) rugby team, the Cougars, with a final score of 29-16 points. The game, held on Saturday, February, 3 at the USIU-Africa grounds, showcased the team's immense motivation and determination. The Martials are now gearing up for their next game against the University of Nairobi (UoN) rugby team, scheduled for February 10, at the UoN grounds. All rugby enthusiasts are encouraged to join and support the Martials in their quest for continued success.
