This colloquium is being held in collaboration with the School of Graduate Studies, Research and Extension (SGSR&E), and is a continuation of our efforts to ensure that the campus community and our partners are appraised on topical issues.

Our Lead Presenter
Dr. Calvin Omolo

Is an assistant professor of Pharmaceutics at the School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences at USIU-Africa. His research focuses on synthesizing novel stimuli-responsive and biomimetic materials such as polymers, dendrimers, lipids, and peptides for the formulation of novel delivery systems like polymeric nanoparticles, liposomes, polymersomes, lipid hybrid nanoparticles, gel nanogels, nanoplexes, as well as troubleshooting complex drug solubility related research with the aim of improving drug bioactivity and biocompatibility. These delivery systems mentioned above are also employed in the treatment of various communicable and non-communicable diseases. He has published 33 research articles, 4 book chapters, and 1 book to his credit in reputable international journals and publishers. He has also supervised to graduation 4 Ph.D. and 1 master’s student.
