The School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS) through the Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice invites you to a colloquium titled "Returning to First Principles? The application of indigenous justice mechanisms in the Criminal Justice System ".

The colloquium will be curated by Dr. Sungi, an Associate Professor of Criminal Justice and Chair of the Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice at USIU-Africa.

About the Speaker:

Dr. Sungi, holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Criminal Justice (2012) from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, Master of Arts (M.A) in Criminology and Criminal Justice (2008), from Indiana State University in Terre Haute, ndiana, Master of Laws (LLM)) in International Human
Rights Law (2006) from Indiana University Robert Mckinney Law School, in Indianapolis, Indiana, all in the United States and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) with honors (2002) from the Open University of Tanzania.

Dr. Sungi is also an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and the High Court of Tanzania. He has authored several scholarly writing in both international and national journals.
