The Innovation and Incubation Center launch the Design Your Future Integrated Innovation Pipeline Program (DYF-IPP)

On January 29, students, faculty, and industry professionals gathered for the launch of the Design Your Future Integrated Innovation Pipeline Program (DYF-IPP). The event, hosted by the Innovation & Incubation Center, marked a significant milestone in fostering innovation and entrepreneurship within the university community.

The day kicked off with a breakfast and networking session, setting a relaxed yet enthusiastic tone for what was to come. As attendees grabbed their morning coffee, conversations flowed about ideas, ambitions, and the future of innovation at USIU-Africa.

Dr. Scott Bellows then took the stage, introducing the Innovation & Incubation Center and its vision. His words set the foundation for the event, highlighting the center’s role in bridging the gap between students and real-world entrepreneurship opportunities.

Next, Prof. Amos Njuguna, the Deputy Vice Chancellor Academics, Transformative Teaching, Learning and Research delivered the opening remarks. His speech was not just informative but also inspiring, encouraging students to take advantage of platforms like this to bring their ideas to life.

Dr. Billy Wadongo, the Director of the Innovation & Incubation Center, followed with an insightful overview of the Design Your Future Integrated Innovation Pipeline Program. He elaborated how this initiative will support young innovators from ideation to execution, ensuring they have the mentorship, funding, and resources needed to succeed.

The keynote address by the Vice Chancellor Prof. Mwenda Ntarangwi was a highlight of the event. He spoke passionately about "Building a Successful University Innovation Center", sharing real-world examples of how universities can nurture a culture of innovation. His speech was both thought-provoking and motivating, leaving many in the audience eager to get involved.

At exactly 9:00 a.m., the official launch of the DYF-IPP took place, led by Mr. Eannes Ongus, the Director of Advancement & Partnership. As he officially unveiled the program, a sense of excitement and anticipation filled the room—this was a moment that signified the beginning of something transformative.

Dr. Victor Boiyo, the Deputy Vice Chancellor-Student Life then wrapped up the main session with closing remarks, reinforcing the importance of taking initiative and seizing the opportunities this program offers.

The event concluded with an innovation exhibition and side meetings where students and faculty explored innovative projects, networked with like-minded individuals, and discussed potential collaborations. Led by Nicholas Kioko, this session provided a hands-on look at how ideas can turn into impactful ventures.

The Design Your Future Integrated Innovation Pipeline Program is more than just an initiative; it is a platform for students to dream, innovate, and build the future. With the right guidance and determination, the next generation of entrepreneurs, change-makers, and visionaries is set to emerge from USIU-Africa.
