Biography:

Dr. Ogada is a professor in Finance and Accounting at United States International University- Africa, School of Business. Prior to her current position, she worked for various corporate entities where she acquired great wealth of experience including:
  • Knowledge and experience in design, implementation and/or operation and experience in analysis of such projects for technical feasibility and basic principles and practices of accounting and financial analysis
  • Ability to devise and implement strategic development and resource plans, particularly in the areas of service development, staff development and the management of change
  • Project management skills and experience of hiring and managing specialist consultants
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills in the areas of collaboration, team participation, creative problem-solving, conflict resolution, group planning, and decision-making processes
  • Strong understanding of IFRS/IPSAS and FMCG policies and procedures
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-orientated environment, and function as an effective team member.
  • Ability to interpret and implement new legislation, policies and initiatives
  • Experience of financial responsibility for a budget, including experience of accounting guidelines, end of year accounts and external liaison with auditors
  • Overseeing and managing finances of branch offices within East African region.
  • Competent in the use of Ms Office Suite, Internet Application Programs and Accounting packages i.e. Quick Books, Sage and Oracle Accounting, Enterprise Resource Planning based on SAP
