Chair's Message Cinematic Arts

The Department of Cinematic Arts offers very unique programs that are tailor-made to respond to the demands of the global film industry, which is our target market. The two programs we offer are:

BA Animation

BA Film Production and Directing

Launched in Summer 2018, the department hopes to prepare learners for the rigors of Film Industry through experiential learning, apprenticeship, collaboration with established film organizations and through constant festival participation and exposure. Thus, our programs have made remarkable strides in the Film and Animation industries in Kenya and beyond.

With the steadily growing student population, we strive to maintain a lean faculty: student ratio to enable a more interactive practical learning. We have invested heavily in state-of-the-art production facilities to ensure that learning is remarkably rewarding and exciting. Our driving force is creative imagination, innovation, experimenting, industry modeling and most importantly, learner-centered learning. This is how we have enabled our students to produce award winning films such as Unbalanced (2019), The Package (2019) and Mad Love (2019) while still in Film School.
