Chandaria School Of Business Participated In The Institute Of Certified Public Accountants Of Kenya (ICPAK) 42nd Annual Seminar

Photo: Jeremiah Musoka.On November 17-21, Chandaria School of Business participated in the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) 42nd Annual Seminar held at Sarova Whitesands and Pride Inn in Mombasa. The event brought together accounting and finance professionals from across the country, providing an excellent platform for the university to engage working professionals, reconnect with alumni, and showcase its academic programs.

A key highlight of USIU-Africa’s presence was the leadership shown by Prof. Elizabeth Kalunda, Associate Professor of Finance at the Chandaria School of Business, and Chair of the ICPAK Council. She moderated several sessions during the seminar. Her visibility and contribution reinforced the University’s academic excellence and influence in the accounting profession.

In addition to Prof. Kalunda’s participation, the presence of CPA Dr. Kasole Wesonga, an adjunct faculty member and ICPAK’s Director for Quality & Compliance, and CPA Dr. Stephen Githaiga, Assistant Professor of Finance at the Chandaria School of Business, further showcased the quality of the institution’s faculty and their strong engagement with the industry. Furthermore, the USIU-Africa team exhibited at the seminar, maximizing engagement opportunities during session breaks and interacting with delegates who were eager to learn more about USIU-Africa’s postgraduate and undergraduate programs.

Throughout the five-day seminar, the team received overwhelming interest from prospective students, particularly in master’s programs in finance and related fields. Delegates also inquired about undergraduate opportunities for their children. Between the two venues, the team recorded 94 inquiries, demonstrating strong interest and growing recognition of USIU-Africa’s academic offerings.

The seminar also provided an opportunity to reconnect with the alumni in attendance, strengthening institutional relationships and celebrating the achievements of graduates in the professional space.

USIU-Africa also received an ICPAK sponsorship award, acknowledging the University’s continued support and participation in the prestigious annual seminar. The strong showing reaffirmed USIU-Africa’s commitment to institutional visibility, professional engagement, and strategic recruitment, underscoring its position as a leading institution of higher education in the region.
