On October 23-24, Team Environment Kenya, in collaboration with ENSO Club, held the SDGs Dialogue, Agro-ecology, Agro-forestry, and Climate Action Innovation. Themed “Youth Actions for the SDGs Now Towards 2030," the conference highlighted the power of young innovators driving sustainable solutions for our planet.

Delivering the keynote address on the first day, Ms. Florence Syevuo, Executive Director of the SDG Kenya Forum, who served as the chief guest, presented on “The Evolution from Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs),” highlighting the progress, challenges, and lessons learned in shaping the global development agenda from an African perspective. On the second day, Hon. Amb. Amina Mohamed, CBS, CAV, also serving as the chief guest, emphasized the urgency of achieving the SDGs and advancing climate action through collaboration, innovation, and inclusive participation. She commended USIU-Africa for fostering sustainability, youth empowerment, and inclusivity, and urged participants to be agents of change, champion climate justice, and help build a resilient, green, and equitable future.

This two-day event also featured a panel discussion, which sought to address how the youth of Africa can make a significant impact in the implementation of SDGs. Douglas Sidalo, the Ex chair of the National Paralympic Association and a survivor of the 1998 bombing of the United States Embassy in Nairobi, emphasized the importance of inclusive climate action and policies that ensure accessibility, participation, and resilience for persons with disabilities.

Additionally, Buruk Company made a presentation, showcasing biodegradable trash bags and distributing over thirty pieces of trash bags and T-shirts to attendees, promoting sustainable waste management practices.

A defining moment was the flag off of the Robotics team by Ambassador Amina Mohamed for a Robotics competition to be held in Panama. This moment stood as a symbol of commitment and collective responsibility toward sustainability.
