Alumni Spotlight: Deep Bhayanis Journey Of Healthcare Transformation In East Africa

Deep Bhayani is a transformational healthcare executive with more than 14 years of experience strengthening hospital systems and improving patient care across East Africa. He currently serves as Director of Hospital Operations at Lifecare Hospitals, Mlolongo, where he oversees hospital operations, drives service excellence, and empowers teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.

Deep is an alumnus of the Global Executive Master of Business Administration in Health Leadership, Class of 2014. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy from Manipal University, India. Additionally, he has pursued executive strategy programs at Harvard Business School, further sharpening his ability to navigate complex healthcare challenges and lead transformation in the sector.

He has previously held senior leadership roles as Head of Rehabilitation and Wellness at MP Shah Hospital in Nairobi and Chief Operating Officer at Shree Hindu Mandal Hospital in Tanzania. In these positions, he championed service improvements, introduced innovative care models, enhanced patient experiences, and built high-performing teams committed to excellence.

Passionate about mentorship and professional growth, Deep continues to guide and inspire emerging healthcare leaders. He is committed to creating environments where healthcare professionals thrive, and patients are treated with dignity, compassion, and respect.
