Dr. Titus Munyasya Ndunda is a development economist with over eight years of experience working with the United Nations system and the private sector, including roles at the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), and TreAdvisory GmbH. His focus is on facilitating investment, supporting small and medium-size enterprises (SMEs), and strengthening agricultural value chains, primarily within the East African Community.

An alumnus of Bachelor of Science in International Business Administration-Management, Class of 2010, Dr. Ndunda is the Founder and Director of TreAdvisory GmbH in Bonn, Germany where he leads cross-border trade and business initiatives that promote sustainable economic growth. He has facilitated the introduction of medical technologies from the DACH region to Kenyan SMEs, leading to five cross-border partnerships and three technology transfer agreements. His work also involves business matchmaking, connecting partners and investors through platforms like the Impact Business Portal to drive impactful investments. Furthermore, he oversees multi-sector initiatives in trade, energy, and agribusiness, managing project plans and budgets to ensure successful outcomes.

He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Europa-Universität Flensburg, Germany which he earned based on his research that explored how multinational corporations help build production capabilities within local firms, insights that continue to guide his work in trade facilitation and industrial development.

Over the years, his interests have increasingly focused on trade facilitation and trade policy as vital tools for inclusive economic growth. Dr. Ndunda works to bridge local SMEs with multinational corporations, mobilize impact investments, and align private sector solutions with broader development priorities. Additionally, he engages in climate finance and carbon project development, blending economic growth with environmental sustainability.

Dr. Ndunda notes that the education he received at USIU-Africa provided a strong foundation for critical thinking, cultural understanding, and lifelong learning, all which have been essential in his growth and development in the international space. He reiterates that the university’s values of leadership, ethics, and social responsibility have been a guiding force throughout his career.

He states that he is proud to be part of the USIU-Africa community and is committed to its mission of producing ethical global citizens who contribute meaningfully to a changing world. Through mentoring and advocacy for inclusive development, he aims to support the next generation of leaders and help shape a more sustainable future.
