
Prof. Allan Kihara Ph.D. is an Associate Professor of Strategic Management. He holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration specializing in Strategic Management from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), a Masters in Business Administration specializing in Strategic Management from JKUAT and a Bachelor of Education in Mathematics and Business studies from Kenyatta University.
With more than 15 years of professional experience gained from both public and corporate sector, Prof. Kihara has been a lecturer for more than 10 years having taught different management courses at JKUAT, University of Nairobi (UON), Kiriri Women's University of Science and Technology (KWUST) and the Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) He has also worked for Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) Limited and Safaricom Limited beyond teaching at Cardinal Maurice Otunga School in Nairobi as a professionally trained teacher.
Prof. Kihara's main interests are largely in both academic and corporate research having authored and co-authored more than one hundred (170) journal articles in different management specializations all indexed at Google scholar and Academia.edu among other academic search engines. He has also published two books in Strategic Management and one in Entrepreneurship. He is also a member of several editorial boards and a peer reviewer in different accredited Academic Journals worldwide. He has served as a Curriculum Reviewer at the Commission of University Education (CUE) in Kenya, and has been active in supporting student research at Post-graduate levels through supervision of research projects/dissertations and doctoral theses. Prof. Kihara has successfully supervised 150 Masters students and at least 10 doctoral students in areas of Strategic Management and other related management specializations. He is a Board of Management member in several academic and government institutions in Kenya, and is a member of Strategic Management Society (SMS) based in Illnois, Chicago-USA.Prof. Kihara derives satisfaction in mentoring students towards higher goals in life.
