The first cohort of the RISE|E Program graduates

The Placement and Career Services Department (PACS) and the Disability and Inclusion Office, in collaboration with Light for the World, gathered participants of the Ready for Inclusive Employment (RISE|E) Program for its inaugural graduation ceremony on February 7. The ceremony marked the culmination of the students' self-improvement journey and stood as a testament to their hard work and dedication.

The program, led by Racheal Njiru, Program Manager at Light for the World, included speeches from Lameck Tala, PACS representative, and Iram Bahawal from Light for the World. The speakers highlighted the students’ unwavering dedication, the challenges they faced in balancing rigorous coursework with other life commitments, and praised them for their perseverance. Lameck Tala spoke about the transformative power of education and the value of lifelong learning, while Iram emphasized the organization’s commitment to empowering individuals through education. “Embrace your passions, pursue your dreams with unwavering determination and do not be confined by your current courses or perceived limitations,” she encouraged the graduates.

The graduation ceremony was a celebration of resilience, determination, and the transformative power of education. Armed with newfound knowledge and inspiration, the graduates are now poised to make a meaningful impact in the world. Their journey is a powerful reminder that with dedication and self-belief, any dream is within reach.
