2024 End of Year Giving Campaigns: Honoring generosity at USIU-Africa
By Frank Ojwang and Maryann Wangari
The University Advancement and Partnerships Division rallied employees and members of the governance council to participate in the 2024 End of Year Employee and Governance Giving Campaigns respectively which ran from November 21 to end of December. A total of 22 employees and 5 members of the governance team gave towards the campaign that raised a total of Kshs. 1,976,921.10, which will aid university programs and initiatives and showcased the remarkable philanthropic spirit within the community. Notably, a contribution from a Graduate Associate emphasized the shared commitment within our community.
Deeply rooted in principles of social responsibility and community involvement, this campaign presented an opportunity to give back in ways that resonated with their individual interests. Through monetary and in-kind giving, participants demonstrated the power of common goals in driving impactful change. This generosity speaks greatly into the vibrant giving culture where all members of the community actively champion the university’s mission.
In response to the participants’ suggestions to start future campaigns earlier and have them twice a year, preparations are currently underway for the campaign in June. This is being done with an aim of encouraging greater participation, inclusion and create a lasting impact.
A big and heartfelt thank you to every individual for their kindness. In recognition for their contributions, every participant will receive a certificate of appreciation.
