Alumni Relations Department holds fifth edition of the Vice Chancellors breakfast series at Sarova Panafric

On November 6, the Alumni Relations Department hosted the fifth and final edition of the Vice Chancellor’s Breakfast series at Sarova Panafric, Nairobi. This event provided an opportunity for 12 alumni to engage with Vice Chancellor Professor Mwenda Ntarangwi and reflect on how their time at USIU-Africa has shaped their personal and professional journeys.
The event began with introductions, allowing alumni to reconnect and share career insights, while also discussing the lasting impact of their education. Professor Ntarangwi shared his vision for USIU-Africa, emphasizing the importance of nurturing a strong alumni network and encouraging collaborative initiatives.
Throughout the discussions, alumni highlighted several key areas where they could give back to the university, including supporting internship and mentorship programs. They expressed appreciation for the Vice Chancellor’s emphasis on integrity as a core pillar in achieving his goals for the institution, noting that it resonated strongly with their values. Many alumni also expressed interest in returning to USIU-Africa to further their education, reinforcing the role of alumni as true brand ambassadors for the university. Additionally, there was strong support for the Vice Chancellor’s vision of positioning USIU-Africa as a research hub, with several alumni expressing a willingness to contribute to this goal and participate in initiatives aimed at developing the university’s research capacity.
As the breakfast series concluded, the focus was on the significant and ongoing role of alumni in enhancing USIU-Africa’s community and supporting future generations of graduates. Looking ahead, the university aims to deepen alumni collaboration and create more impactful engagement opportunities across various sectors.
