Placement and Career Services Department host inaugural peer tutoring program award ceremony

The Placement and Career Services (PACS) team hosted its inaugural peer tutoring award ceremony. The event was a testament to the power of peer-to-peer learning and the dedication of students who have gone above and beyond to support their fellow peers.
The ceremony commenced with opening remarks by Lameck Tala (PACS Officer), who commended the students for their unwavering dedication to supporting their fellow students. He emphasized the significance of extending a helping hand and highlighted the invaluable role of the program in fostering academic growth.
Patricia Gichuki (PACS Officer), provided a captivating overview of the program's evolution from its inception to its current success. She highlighted the program's vital role in student support and retention, acknowledging the initiative of the peer tutors. She encouraged the students to carry the lessons learned from the program into other aspects of their lives.
The keynote address was delivered by the Dean of Students, Ronald Kimani, who acknowledged the powerful impact of peer tutoring, as evidenced by numerous student testimonials. He praised the students for their selfless commitment to academic excellence and urged them to leverage this experience as a foundation for future endeavors. The Dean also expressed gratitude to the Department for their unwavering support of the student body.
AnnSalome, the peer tutoring program coordinator expressed her gratitude to the entire group of students for successfully completing the program. She commended the students for their unwavering dedication to supporting their peers, even in the face of various challenges. Their commitment to academic excellence and willingness to help others exemplified the true spirit of the program and encouraged them to be part of the program for as long as they could.
The ceremony culminated in an award ceremony, where the Dean and other Career Services Officers presented certificates of recognition to the dedicated peer tutors and gift hampers for the top tutors. The award ceremony was testament to USIU-Africa’s commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment. By recognizing the contributions of peer tutors, the university inspires future generations of students to embrace the spirit of academic collaboration and give back to their peers.
