Alumni Office Hosts the 1st and 2nd Vice Chancellor’s Breakfast Series

The Alumni Office hosted two Vice Chancellor’s Breakfast Series events in Nairobi, providing alumni a unique opportunity to engage with the university’s new Vice Chancellor, Professor Mwenda Ntarangwi.
The inaugural breakfast, which targeted current and former Alumni Association Council members, was held on September 26 at Sankara Hotel, Nairobi. A second breakfast meeting followed on October 4 at Fairmont The Norfolk Hotel.
Professor Ntarangwi outlined his vision for the university, emphasizing the vital role alumni can play in supporting the institution’s goals. He highlighted key areas where he hopes to see increased alumni involvement, including enhancing inclusivity, strengthening alumni relations, expanding collaborative efforts and advancing the university’s mission. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of improving the student experience through mentorship programs and promoting leadership that challenges the status quo.
Alumni participants shared their aspirations and expectations for Professor Ntarangwi’s leadership, focusing on critical areas such as improving university infrastructure, raising academic standards and leveraging alumni networks to give back to the university. They also expressed a desire to foster a community that would enhance the institution’s reputation both locally and internationally.
These breakfast engagements provided a platform for constructive idea-sharing and reaffirmed the university’s commitment to building a collaborative relationship with its alumni community. Preparations are already underway for future sessions in the “Breakfast with the VC” series, as the university continues to strengthen its engagement with alumni
