On October 6, the Nairobi County Swimming Association (NCSA) hosted its Level 2 Gala at Kiota School, bringing together young swimmers from various teams across the county. The event was a vibrant display of talent, sportsmanship, and fostered the spirit of competition.

One of the highlights of the day was the performance of the USIU-Africa Dolphins relay team in the 200m medley relay. Comprising Sean Odera in backstroke, Antony Oketch in breaststroke, Joshua Isige in butterfly, and Sammy Miguda in freestyle, the team showcased remarkable synergy and skill. Their hard work paid off as they finished in an impressive second place, earning the silver medal for their outstanding effort.

Later in the day, the same quartet participated in the 200m freestyle relay, this time competing in a different order: Joshua Isige started, followed by Antony Oketch, Sammy Miguda, and finally Sean Odera. Their determination and teamwork was visible during the competition, contributing to a strong overall performance.

In addition to the relay events, Antony Oketch also swam in the 50m breaststroke. He displayed exceptional technique and tenacity, securing a bronze medal for his individual effort.

Hockey

On October 5, the Spartans faced Mount Kenya University (MKU) at Kenyatta University and the match ended in a 1-1 draw. The team also had a league match on campus against University of Nairobi and they drew 1-1 with the winning goal scored by Beatrice Mbugua.

On October 6, the men’s team had a KUSA match on against Kenyatta University and won 1-0, the winning goal was scored by Borris.
