On Wednesday, June 14, 2023, USIU-Africa hosted the prestigious OSAC Cybersecurity Conference in partnership with the United States Embassy in Kenya.

Students, faculty, and members of the East African business community enjoyed keynote speakers including Charles Perla from the U.S. State Department and Kenneth Ogweno of Microsoft. Panel speakers included members of the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), She Hackers, and USIU-Africa's very own Professor Patrick Wamuyu. Additional organizations represented included Chambers Foundation, Church World Service, PLSO-WS Insight, Compassion International, Crown Plaza Hotels, Australian High Commission, and Rafiki Foundation, among others.

"USIU-Africa values our longstanding partnership with the U.S. Embassy in Kenya and are thrilled to join the OSAC community" said Dr. Scott Bellows. "As a university, we thrive as a knowledge leader at the intersection between cybersecurity and business".

OSAC stands for the Overseas Security Advisory Council and is headquartered in Washington DC. As a public-private partnership with some of the world's biggest companies, it was created by the U.S. Secretary of State to promote and open dialogue between the U.S. Government and the American private sector on security issues abroad.
