Linux Certification from LPI - Cohort  1
The Linux Professional Institute (LPI) is a non-profit organization that brings together an active community of IT professionals in the advocacy in assistance of the use of Linux open source software. Linux is an open source operating system that is based on UNIX. USIU-Africa became a Linux Professional Institute Academy in September 2013. USIU-Africa are able to obtain the:

Linux Essentials Professional Development Certificate (PDC) which equips students with basic skills in working with the Linux Operating System

LPIC-1: Linux Server Professional Certification which equips students with the ability to perform maintenance tasks with the command line, install & configure a computer running Linux and be able to configure basic networking.

Through self-study and co-ordination with the LPI, students can thereafter pursue the LPIC-2: Linux Network Professional Certification which equips them with the ability to administer small to medium–sized mixed networks.
