Tests & Exams
|International applicants are considered for admissions on the same basis as local applicants but must also demonstrate English proficiency. All students for whom English is not a first language are required to show English proficiency before beginning an academic program.
English Language Proficiency
Where necessary, and as appropriate, all International applicants whose language of instruction is not English must submit an official record of scores from either:
Cambridge Test of English Proficiency, with a grade of C or better is required.
The American College Test (ACT), or Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT).
Students from countries where English is the official language will be exempt from the USIU English proficiency requirement unless their academic performance at USIU reveals the need for additional English language study. As such, the University reserves the right to make the final determination of a student’s English proficiency level in all cases.
The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) and Graduate Record Examination (GRE) are standardized tests designed to measure basic verbal, mathematical, and analytical writing skills that have been developed over a long period of time through education and work. These exams do not measure:
Knowledge of business.
Specific content in undergraduate or first university course work.
Subjective qualities such as motivation, creativity, and interpersonal skills.
Abilities in any other specific subject area.
GMAT/GRE exams are available online year-round at test centers through out the World. The test score submitted must be current within the last five years, and all needed registration information is in the ‘Appointments’ section of the GMAT & GRE websites at:
