Application Procedures

We in the Admissions Office and USIU as a whole believe that you have made the right choice and are very pleased to have you with us.

Your education takes place in the campus environment, as well as the classrooms. We are committed to provide services that benefit your health, safely, and welfare. We are equally committed to enhancing the opportunities for learning through various activities, recreational programs and personal relationships, which make up life.		  

Application Checklists
The following checklist can be used to verify that all the necessary documents have been satisfactorily completed and submitted to the Admissions Office for processing.
These include:

Undergraduate Applicants
    Non-refundable Application Fee (KShs. 3,000 or USD $50) – No cash payments (see banking options below)
    Complete and signed application form (Please observe the deadlines above)
    Originals & a copy of all Transcripts, Diplomas or Certificates (All originals, where necessary, will be returned)
    One recent passport size photograph (write your name on reverse side)
    Copy of the National Identity Card or Birth Certificate

Graduate Applicants
    Non-refundable Application Fee (KShs. 3,000 or USD $50) – No cash payments (see banking options below)
    Complete and signed application form (Please observe the deadlines above)
    An official degree transcript for each college or professional school previously attended.
    Copy of the National Identity Card or Birth Certificate
    Official Test Score Results (GMAT for Master of Business Administration applicants and GRE for Master of Arts applicants)
    Originals and a copy of all supportive documents
    A two-page essay addressing these two topics:
1)    What experiences led you to select your professional objectives
2)    What other two factors would you like to be considered in evaluating your application
    A curriculum vitae/resume
    Two letters of recommendation
    One recent passport size photography (Write your name on reverse side)
    Copy of the National Identity Card or Birth Certificate

International Applicants
    An official translation of academic records (where applicable)
    An official test score of English (TOEFL) or Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (if required)
    A current financial guarantee letter (from your financial sponsors)
    Two completed Pupil’s Pass forms
    Pupil Pass processing fee (KShs. 2,000 or USD $40) – No cash payments (see banking options below)
    Two recent passport size photographs (Write your name on the reverse side)
    Copy of the National Passport

Banking Options
All applicants must complete and sign the application form and submit it to the Admissions Office. Only complete applications will be processed. A non-refundable processing fee must accompany the application. However, no cash payments are accepted in the Finance office and all payments should be made by bankers cheques issued to United States International University (USIU), or deposited into the accounts below; (then forward the deposit slip to the Finance Office at USIU).
