Programs for the ceremony will be placed on your seats on graduation day. Reporting time at USIU – Africa is 8.00 a.m. You will not be allowed to participate in the ceremony if you arrive after it begins.
Graduation Announcement: Graduands are given 4 announcements free of charge. No additional cards will be available. Each card will admit only one person. Anyone without a card will not be allowed in. Children above two years will be required to have a card to enter. The cards will be issued at the following times beginning 6th September 2017.

Transport: USIU-Africa will provide some limited transport on both days of the rehearsal on a first come, first served basis from town (Jevanjee) Gardens on rehearsal days. 1.00 O’clock.
Graduation Fee: Graduation fee for all students is Kshs 5,000.00 and was payable by 30th June 2017, as earlier communicated.
Payments are to be made in the Finance Office. Receipt for cap and gown rental together with graduation fee, tuition fee clearance and library clearance must be presented to Lillian Awino or her designees in order to obtain cap, hood and gown.
Photography and Video Coverage.
Prices for the graduation photos will be Kshs 900/- for 3 Shots (Class photo & 2 Individual photos - Portrait, full length). Class photos will be taken in front of the library on the Wednesday and Friday before graduation respectively.See attachment on Photos schedule for your class photo timing. Individual (studio) photos will be taken after class photos in the business school on the same day. Please come with your gowns & caps.

Caps and Gowns: These will be issued in the Auditorium (backroom upstairs) on the following dates:
Thursday 31st August 2017 to Thursday, September 7th, 2017. No gowns will be issued outside these dates. The times: are as follows -
Mondays - Fridays -------------1.00 p.m. - 4.15 p.m.
(Holidays, Saturdays and Sundays closed)
Note: We will not issue gowns on 6th September due to the class photo sessions and graduation rehearsals
Gowns will also be issued on Saturday, 2nd September from 9.00am to 12.30pm.
All gowns must be returned by September 15th 2017. A fine of Kshs.1000.00 per day will be charged effective 18th September, for overdue gowns. Any graduate who retains the academic regalia after 22nd of September 2017 will have to replace the whole set at a cost Ksh.10, 000.00. Please note gowns are not for sale.

By making caps and gowns available early, it's expected that those who wish to have studio photographs taken will do so before September 9th 2017 All attire must be returned by 15th September.
Eligibility, Clearance, Other Requirements for Participation in Ceremony and Receipt of Diploma:
- Academic: All Coursework is to be fully and satisfactorily completed before receipt of diploma. In addition graduate students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 and above and undergraduates 2.0 and above in order to receive a diploma.
- All Fees: The deadline for fee payment was Monday, June 30th as earlier communicated. Students with fee balances will not be allowed to collect graduation attire or participate in the commencement ceremony.
- Library Clearance: The deadline for payment of fines or lost books was 30th June 2017 as earlier communicated. All books should have been returned by 4th August 2017.
- On graduation day, the diploma case and congratulatory message will be presented as is customary. Actual presentation of diplomas will be made in the Registrar’s office to students who have completed all graduation requirement
You will be able to check your clearance status on line as well after graduation. If a department will not have cleared you, you will need to contact them to find out the reason e.g. lost books, lost equipment, fee balances etc. The link for checking your final clearance status is https://clearance.usiu.ac.ke/
Rehearsals: All students expecting to participate in the ceremony must attend a mini graduation rehearsal on Wednesday, September 6th, at 1.30 pm and a major rehearsal on Friday, September 8th at 1.30pm. The Line-up will begin from parking B opposite the hostels. Those who do not participate in the rehearsal will not be allowed to participate in the Commencement Ceremony. During rehearsals, the procedures of lining up, marching, seating arrangements, exiting, and so on will be presented and all matters pertaining to graduation explained. PLEASE NOTE YOUR POSITION IN THE PROCESSION. The line –up will be sent to your emails and also posted on the USIU –Africa website at the appropriate time.
Year Books will also be issued on the said dates.
There will be a meeting for all graduating students on Wednesday September 6th at 9.30a.m – 10.30am in the AUDITORIUM. Please plan to attend due to the important announcements that will be made.
